The co-operative advertising com
mittee was elected as follows: G. A.
Abbott, Marion; J. E. Stubbs, Hen
dersonyille; C. E. Vaughan, Black
Mountain; H. E. Buchanan, Sylva;
and L. F. Jackson, of Burnsville.
This committee will prepare pictorial
letterheads, envelopes, folders and
other literature advertising Western
North Carolina as its first active
work in the campaign and these will
be distributed by all organizations
and their members.
The Federation voted to publish a
booklet that will contain tour routes
from various points, points of inter
est, hotels, highways maps and illus
trations. This committee will be com
posed of F. Roger Miller, Asheville,
chairman; E. C. Kingsbury, Frank
lin; Charles Lynch, Tryon; E. L.
Withers, Wayncsville; C. M. Stur
key, Lenoir; and G. A. Abbott, of
Marion. In connection with the work
of this and other committees the
matter of fall advertising campaigns
to be sponsored by chambers of
commerce and other civic organiza
tions of Western North Caroling to
develop fall and winter tourist travel
and to generally promote business
was discussed and plans made. The
committee of extension to prgjnote
new organization an,d to extend the
federation to take in all counties of
Western North Carolina is composed
of F. H. Coffee, Lenoir; A. L. Sand
idge, Bryson City; "W. R.. Mehaffev,
Tryon; T. A. Wilson, Saluda and J.
E. Stubbs, of Hendcrsonville.
Mr. Rogers made the opening ad
dress at the morning meeting which
began at 11 o'clock. Mr. Rogers said
that it was the purpose of the or
ganization to unite the constructive
forces of this section into one great
forward movement in which all cities
and towns might participate. Lunch
eon was served the visitors by the
Asheville Chamber of Conunerce at
one o'clock and the meeting adjourn
ed at 4 o'clock.

Lenpir was selected as the place
for the next meeting of the Federa
tion which will be July 28. The
Federation yesterday passed resolu
tions thanking the Asheville Cham
ber of Commerce for the luncheon
served the visitors and expressed ap
preciation for the eo-operation .which
the Asheville organizations through
out Western North Carolina.
