Mrs. Sherrill has been in Franklin with her hus band for several days. Mr. Billy Davis, cashier of the Tuckaseegee Bank has been confined to his home since Christmas day, suf fering with affeetion of his tonsils and ear. Buchanan, Jr., being hostess. /"? JOHN RIGDON IMPROVED John Rigdon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.. B. Rigdon, who lost the sight of one eye, and underwent a serious op eration, as the result of shooting fire crackers, during the holidays, is said to be improving and it is believed j that the sight of th? other eye will not be permanently impaired. WILSON-OVERSTREET On the eve of the New Year, Miss Harriett Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Wilson and Mr. Rob-1 ert Overstreet were united in mar-1 undersigned purchased said tract of riage at the Methodist church here, church, officiating. Immediately after the ceremony an informal reception was held, at the home of the bride's parents, only close relatives being present. After the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Overstreet left for Asheville, later going to Bedford, Va., the homo of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Overstreet, parents of the groom. Mrs. Overstreet is a young girl of lovabl disposition, popular in a large circle of friends. Mr. Overstreet who has spent) several months here, has made a number of friends during his stay. ALLISON-MORRIS A wedding of more than usual in terest was that which took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Buchanan on Christmas Eve, when Miss Ruth Allison and Mr. John Mor ris were united by Rev. W. M. Rob... bins, pastor of the Methodist church. Witnessing the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Buchanan and Mrs. Sadie J. Long. Immediately after the marriage Mr. and Mrs. Morris left for1 Kenilworth Inn, Asheville, where they 'spent several days. Mrs. Morris is the eldest daughter | of Mrs. Eugenia Allison of Webster,! and has won wide populartiy by her ^harming personality. She is a grad uate of the North Carolina College for Women and is, at present, prin cipal of the Webster High School. Mr. Morris, the younger son of Mrs. Mary Morris, is a prominent young business man of Sylva, having ! succeeded his father, the late Hanley M. Morris in the mercantile business | of The Morris Company.
