Oliver, poultry extension specialist of State College, Raleign, the best brooder house he has seen in the State of North Carolina is located 011 the farm of Porter Bryan who lives iu the Walnut Creek sec tion, a few miles nprthwcst of Mar shall. Mr. Oliver inspected this brood er house on a recent visit to Madison . county in tiie interest of poultrymin of this section. Mr. Oliver based his statement 011 the following: Economical construc tion cost, sanitary surroundings and proper planning. The house is con structed o"f logs, chinked and white washed and the actual cost of build ing? was very small. The house ans wers every requirement of tha owner for ordinary purposes and is just P* good as booses of more expensive construction. , County Airent Earle Britnall says that there arc other good brooder houses in Madison county, but none of them were constructed as cheaply as that of Mr. Bryan. In the election of town officers held at the Court House on Tuesday, the old board of aldermen conpistinp: <>i' the following men were re-elceted iter already serving two terms: Mr. Sam Jones received 398 votes; Air. F: \V. Miller received 405 vctos; Mr. \V. T. Shelton received 309 votes. Mr. M. H. Reeves, who was also run ning foralderman received 229 vot-fs. The race for Mayor was spirited with Major J. IT. Howell victor over Mr. Atkins by 89 majority. Major Howell's votes were 282 and Mr. At kins 193. Unusually little interest was man ifested in the election with a total of 528 votes cast.
