Wells, have returned to their home in Knoxville, Tcnn., after a two weeks' visit to Miss Lucy Wells, in Charlotte. Mr. Weller and Charles were at -Camp Bragg, Fay etteville, for two weeks, Mr. Weller attending the Officers' Training Camp there. METHODIST CHURCH SERVICES "Christianity and Annulments" will be the subject of the Methodist |iastor, Rev, (ieorge Clemiuer, Sun <bnv morning at the Methodist church in Sylva. In the evening Mr. Clemnur will preach at the Methodist church in Dillsboro on this subject, " Why I Believe in Religion." The morning theme is a very prac tical one. Christians are always- fac ing the problem of finding the right attitude towards worldly amusements. May a Christian dance, play bridge, attend theatres, and so on? The ser mon will be an effort to present what the pastor of the Methodist church believes to be a Christian attitude toward- (H?|>?ilar amusements of th? day. Any one interested in the discussion of this subject is cordially invited to attend this service and hear with his own ears rather than through those of some one else. In the evening there will be a mass meeting of the membership of the Sylva congregation, at which time the immediate future of the Epwortii League will be determined. Mrs. E. L. McKee, Dan Tompkins and others, will make brief talks. Sunday schools will convene at 10 a. m. The following ordicr will be ob served in the morning and evening services. The evening was spent in various games and stunts and delightful re frcsluncnts were served. QUALLA On Sept. 10 Misses Gertrude and Ruth Ferguson, Marv Battle, Cumi Howell, Harriett Hall, Irene Raby, Bessie Martin and Oma Gass lefi to attend Asheville Normal. On Sept. 17th Misses Etta Kinslaud Hazel and Ida Battle, Jennie Cathey, Annie Li/./.ie Terrell and Messrs Jack and Frank Battle went to Cullowlice to enter the Normal. Some of the Qualla folks have been attending revival services at .Olivet. Mr. and Mrs. Win. Freeman an. I Mrs. A. J. Freeman have returned from a visit with relatives in Swam Mr. W. F.
