They are mostly Scotch and are a high toned, sober, industrious people, with noble, moral and christian aspirations. Among such a people and surround ings, your scribe's lot has been cast for the past two years. The town itself is 3-et in its infancy, and is com posed of thirty stores and busines houses, two buggy shops, two hotels, three churches, with a strong and vig orous working Y. M. C. A., three schools, three depots, two livery sta bles, barber and blacksmith shops, but "uarry" bar shop. There are from 50 fo 200 bales cotton handled here per day, at this season of year, and it is a busy, bustling, "git up" little place; made more so, just at the pre sent, by the extensive preparations being made for the approaching Bor der Exposition, that is to take place here, the 22d to 24th of the present month. It promises now to be a hi" thing, as both the Carolinas are to take part, and our people are putting every effort forth to make it vie even with the State Fair. Ve. would be glad to see hundreds of the good peo ple of Moore on hand. Yes, come and see our level country and our neat lit tle town, shake hands with our whole souled farmers, see our pretty gills and see a fair "what is a fair." First there must be a new reg istration of voters; ihe county com missioners having so ordered. 2d.
