The band boys gladly gave their service to the Bryan-Kitchm club last Tuesday night. While all of the boys are not Democrats, they are not partial with their music. Haywjod, has typhoid fever and they have secured a trained nurse for him. We learn he is doing very well. ' Misses Helen and Katie Mc Aulay, Bettie Stanback and An nie Newby left Tor Greensboro Female College today. Mr. Henry Ingram .left for Trinity Tuesday. Atty. W. A. Cochran of Troy was in town a dav or so ago on legal business Messrs Pray Haywood and Philip Scarboro have gone to Durham to enter school. Mrs. S. V. Stewart of Cjncord and Mrs. Mary E. Snuggs of Albemarle were visiting relatives and friends in this vicinity last week. Mr. Jesse Lisk and sister Bur- nice of Troy are visiting at Mr. H. G. Scarboro's thisweek. Biscoe Kewn. Miss Alma Yates left Monday for Wadeville, where she will teach school. Miss Kate Harrington of Char lotte is visiting her sister, .Mrs. A. W. Burt. Mrs. J. W. Massemore and children returned home this week from a visit in Anson county. Miss Kate Bryan of Jonesboro, assistant teacher in the school. arrived Saturday and is stopping with Mrs. J. K. rage. Miss Baxter of Jackson Springs spent Saturday with Mrs. J. K. Page. Miss Janie Russell returned Tuesday from a visit in Thomas ville and Salisbury. Mrs. J. J. Williams and her sister, Mrs. Powell and children are visiting in Wake county. It is rumored that the Biscoe Dramatic Club will give "East Lynne" again soon for the bene fit of the new school auditorium. Give us East Lynne or some oth er play. Mr. E. L. Auman spent Fri day night in town. We know he enjoyed his visit. Mrs. W. F. Swift and son, Ed win, left for Dunellon. Fla. Fri day to join her husband, who is master mechanic for the Camp Phosphate Mills. We regret to lose them, but wish them success in their new home.
