PAGE TWO SPORTS 4 OF THE COUNI Y * Solicited THE SOUTHERN TOURNAMENT. Once again the Southern Basketball Tournament will he held in Raleigh and once again the auditorium will not be able to handle the crowds that want to see the games. Why. Oh Why’ are the games not played at Duke where a really large crowd of people can get in to see the games. We understand that the Duke gvm will seat about twelve thousand. Carolina will take care of a much larger number in her gym than the auditorium in Raleigh, yet the tournament is held in Raleigh each year. Let’s give the sponsoring organization in Raleigh all the credit in the world for having done a swell job and for having done it when no one else would, but its time to fjnd another place where the games can be seen by the fans. There is no reason for the Southern Conference to be a semi-private affair. We know of a lot of people who want to see teams play and this writer is one of them.
