The trees, a memorial for the 400th anniversary of the English colonization of America, were selected because they are believed to have been one of Sir Walter Raleigh's favorite trees. An old home is new again in Uptown Roxboro, thanks to the efforts of Alan and Cindy Hicks, who have purchased the circa 1922 Georgian Revival home at 400 North Main St. and turned it into a bed and breakfast. Cindy said she and her husband had always loved the two-story, five-bedroom house that graces the corner of N.
