Described as “A thrilling blend of holiday favorites, orig inal songs and bluegrass clas sics,” the show features the “im peccable vocal arrangements, phenomenal performances, and breath-taking two, three, and four-part harmonies” that have made them famous. Reigning three-time IBMA Entertainers of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year, Dai ley & Vincent also picked up a Dove Award this past spring to go with their 2011 Grammy Award nomination and consis tent raves from critics and audi ences alike. “The group performed flaw lessly — make that sensation ally — people were screaming and shouting after every song,” notes the Wall Street Journal. Tickets for the show are $38 in the orchestra and $28 in the mezzanine, with $2 discounts for students and those aged 65 or over, and half-price for children under 12. Special group rates for 20 or more and “Student Rush” seating are also available. The best loved holiday story of all time, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will be pre sented on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m. at the Caswell County Civic Cen ter in Yanceyville as part of the Caswell Youth Series sponsored by the Caswell Council for the Arts. Recommended for grades kin dergarten through fifth, and the young at heart of all ages, this hour-long version from Theatre IV of Richmond, Va., is espe cially well-suited for young peo ple — all the joy, sentiment and meaning are there as Scrooge’s heart is turned from stone to gold, yet without being too scary for young audiences. The NORTH CAROLINA BOYS CHOIR, CHAMBER CHOIR AND GIRLS CHOIR will present the annual Christmas Concert in Duke University Chapel on Monday, Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (ages 65 plus) and $8 for children aged 12 and under. The Boys Choir is celebrating 39 years in Durham having been founded as the Dur ham Boys Choir and designated the North Carolina Boys Choir in 1983 by former Gov. James B. Hunt Jr. The Chamber choir of Tenors and Basses was begun in 1992 from alumni of the choir and the Girls Choir was formed last spring. Much of the music is sung by the Boys and Cham ber Choir, making it one of only two such men and boys choirs in the state.
