Former Tar Heel Phelps Thriving in CBA

Derrick Phelps is rocking on in the Con
tinental Basketball Association.
The former North Carolina basketball
, player was named the CBA American Con
. ference Player of the Week Monday.
Phelps, who played for UNC from 1990-
94, now plays for the Chicago Rockers.
. The point guard was in the Milwaukee
Bucks’ veteran camp before being cut be
fore the start of the NBA season. Phelps
was selected in the first round of the CBA
draft by Chicago.
