Major: Leisure Studies/Recreational Administration Really, what challenge is left for an athlete after she’s been captain of co-rec badminton? There’s always the mixed doubles bowling competition. But Sarah Fain has already cap tained the badminton team, won the bowling competition, and has taken care of winning the NC collegiate flag football championship, to boot. In case you were wondering, she was also a runner-up in the table tennis championship. When she’s not busy winning at everything else, she plays IM-Rec flag football, basketball and volleyball. For the love of the game, she also puts in 20 hours a week working in the IM Sports Director’s office, and blows a whistle 10 to 15 hours each week as President of the Carolina Officials Association. There’s always Mount Everest, Sarah. Malt Crawford What: In The Swim Of Things. Major: Politcal Science You can learn a lot about life if you spend enough time around the swim team’s locker room. For instance, it’s not the size of the team that matters, it’s the motion in the pool. At least that’s what Matt Crawford and the rest of the UNC club swim team say. Despite the limited size of their team —about eight to ten dedicated swimmers—individual performances have been out standing. Matt and the rest of the team will get a chance to prove themselves at the Mid-Atlantic States championships, a preliminary trial for upcoming national meets. If Matt’s not practicing the breaststroke, he’s probably honing his defense of favorite philosophical tenets. In addition to being co-president of the swim team, Matt’s a member of Di-Phi, a literary and debate society. What can we say? He’s a real “think or swim” type of guy. Campus Correspondent tenda Cabrini, Sophomore 9URHR University of north Carolina Swoosh Notes The place to be on Saturday nights is Woollen Gym—enjoying Saturday Night Special. An open gym.
