The 6-foot-11 junior captured the award in a runaway vote by the Atlantic Coast Sports Writers Association. Duncan had 88 votes out of 107 ballots cast for the honor before and during the ACC tourna ment. N.C. State center Todd Fuller was second with 14. The goal of this symposium is to put forth a research agenda and a mechanism for its implementation that will address environmental issues of critical and immediate importance to North Carolina. This competition solicits scholarly essays of no more that 5,000 words. The essay should identify one or more important livability environment issues in a specific region (coastal, rural, mountain or urban) or a sub-region of N.C. It should critically evaluate the issues as well as suggest solutions. The completed essay is due at the Office of the Dean of the Graduate School by 5 p.m. Friday March 29. When it came time for the ACC tournament, Duncan enhanced his resume. Duncan grabbed 56 rebounds —he had 22 rebounds against Georgia Tech—over three tournament games, breaking the mark of 54 set by N.C. State’s Dickie Hemric in the 1955 ACC tournament.
