Then they followed with a 12-2 run to open
the second half, effectively putting the game
out of reach, even in this season of numer

“Anytime a team plays you zone, if you
swing the ball fast enough, you can get
some open shots,” Sasser said. “You have
to knock those down.”
For Texas Tech, it was a welcome re
turn of shooting strokes. The Red Raiders
had struggled through the Southwest Con

“I told them yesterday at practice to

said. “The main thing that we wanted to do
at practice yesterday was get a lot of shoot

What Dickey didn’t expect was his play

In the first half, four Red Raiders con

Cory Carr came off the bench to nail four

Perhaps those shots fell a little easier

Tigers Deal Men Laxers First Loss
STAFF REPORT
The North Carolina men's lacrosse
team, ranked fourth in the country, lost 16-
9 to No. 5 Princeton (2-1) on Sunday at
Foreman Field in Norfolk, Va.
Princeton’s victory was its third straight
against the Tar Heels (5-1), who dropped
their first contest of the season.
UNC kept it close for most of the game,
leading 3-2 after the first quarter and trail
ing 9-8 after three. But the Tigers used a 7-

win.

Rodman Faces Suspension
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
NEW YORK Dennis Rodman faced a suspension by the
NBA after head-butting a referee, stripping to his waist, knocking
over a water cooler and shouting obscenities after he was ejected
in Chicago's victory at New Jersey.
Rodman’s tirade Saturday night was witnessed by NBA vice
president of operations Rod Thom, the official who bands out
suspensions.
“Obviously, he didn’t leave the court in a timely manner,”
Thom said Saturday night. “If anybody thinks they’re going to
disrupt our game, they’ve got another thing coming.”
After picking up a technical 5:44 into the game for pounding
the ball on the court, Rodman was ejected with 1:31 left in the first
period after being called for a personal foul.
As Rodman argued the call, he put his hands inside his shorts.
Referee Ted Bernhardt noticed the gesture and called Rodman for
his second technical. Rodman went after Bernhardt and lightly
head-butted him above the left eye. Rodman then flung his shirt
off, stormed around the court and knocked over a water bucket.

UNC’s Scott McAllister upped his

only six hits and struck out three batters.
Besides allowing UNC a chance to pad
its statistics, the sweep injected a dose of
confidence into the Tar Heel dugout.
