WXYC holds dance party for fanatics of ’Bos music, culture
BY BROCK PIERCE
ASSISTANT ARTS & DIVERSIONS EDITOR
Remember the time when just about
the most suave thing you could do was
breakdance or do the electric slide? Well,
if that seems to have slipped your mem
ory, WXYC, UNC’s student-run radio
station, is sponsoring an ’Bos dance at
the Cat’s Cradle tonight to take you back
to the era when jean jackets and bright
neon clothes ruled.
The dance, which lasts from 9 p.m. to

DIVERSIONS
“It’s a pretty long quiz of ’Bos-type
questions,” WXYC DJ Bynum Parsons
said in describing the brain-teasing con
test.
However, if such intellectual endeav
ors don’t grab your immediate attention,
fear not because a breakdancing contest
will allow those who still remember the
moonwalk to show their stuff.
Parsons said he assured the competi
tors could look for dance inspiration
from the tunes that will fill the air, and
the music will be nothing but ’Bos.

“There is a lot of 'Bos music played,”
Parsons said.
This should be good news to the peo

those songs immortalized by the likes of
Tommy Tutone (remember Jenny/867-
