Staff Report Archie Ervin, director of minority recruitment for UNC, was named an assistant to the chancellor and director of the Office of Minority Affairs. Ervin will assume the position after serving as director of on-campus minor ity recruitment and as a UNC employee for 13 years. His appointment will take effect on July 1. Prior to this appointment, Ervin served as chair of UNC’s Black Faculty and Staff Caucus since 1995. He also established the Martin Luther King Scholarship Fund, co-founded the Black Parents Association and assisted academic departments in finding private funding sources for scholarships.
