(The Satlij (Tar HIM Parents Weekend Chocked Full of Activities, Fun Bv Derick Mattern and Brooke Roseman Staff Writers Bright and early Friday morning, par ents of UNC students can begin attend ing classes as part of the Carolina Family Weekend, sponsored by the Carolina Parents’ Office. The event is usually attended by 500 families said Wayne Kuncl, the director of the Parents Office, who outlined the scheme of the weekend’s events. Registration in the Student Union lobby for parents will begin at 3 p.m. and extend to 6 p.m. on Friday. Families who pre-registerea will pick up their ticket packets in the lobby at the same place and time. Those who arrive before 4 p.m. will have the opportunity to go on a tour of the UNC campus and its history. Carolina Family Weekend Events Below are some of the events planned for Family Weekend. Pre-registered families, pick up your ticket packets. 4 p.m Campus Tours Carolina Union Patio. Join campus tours gathering in front of the Carolina Union near the Pit to see mote of the UNC campus and gain special insights into its history. 7:30 p.m. Dinner & Planetarium Show Mofehead State Dining Room and Planetarium. The Morehead Planetarium Building. After dinner, visiters can watch 'Stellar Odyssey,' introduced by Planetarium Director, Dr. Lee Shapiro. Tickets are S3B per person 8:00 p.m. Harry Belafonte Memorial Hall. As part of the Carolina Union Performing Arts Series, Harry Belafonte will perform. Saturday Oct.. 30,1999 . 9:00 a,m. -11:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast, Meeting, and Seminars Carolina Union, Great Hall. Admission is free, but registration is required. Several seminars will be given after breakfast, including 'Carolina Technolgoy," 'Parenting Your Carolina Student" and “Parenting as Partner.” Kickoff 1:30 P.M. Carolina vs. Furman footbal game.
