Across from UNC Likely to Turn Pro Winner: Terrence Newby Terrence Newby has had a bad rap with you guys ever since he came up short on the dunk attempt against Virginia last year. It’s too bad, really, because he’s actually one of the school’s best athletes. Basketball, football, baseball—Newby has the skills to play all of them. Had he chosen football, he might have been your QB this year after Ronald Curry went down. Being Cota’s backup surely didn’t help his image in your eyes either. Heaven forbid anything go wrong in the one or two min- utes Newby plays in a given game because everyone knows that “things would have been different if Ed was playing.” We’ve got love for you, TANARUS, even if those haters don’t. Most UtvJkrr&tgd AtkUtg Winner: Julius Peppers It’s tough to be overlooked when you’re 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds, but the fans say Julius Peppers is underrated. Asa member of the Sporting News all-freshman all-American team for his play at defensive end on the football team, Peppers has earned national accolades. But the voters might have been influenced by his play on the basketball court, where Peppers has provided a toughness for Coach Bill Guthridge’s squad as a reserve forward. Peppers is a redshirt freshman so the fans have three more sea sons to marvel at his talents in both sports. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR ! \\ / RECYCLE / / / \u_@J JjJ First recycling bin free.
