She then reached third on a two-base
error by pitcher Jamie Smith. Jen
Klesaris rocketed a two-strike pitch back
to the mound, and Smith knocked the
ball to the dirt. But her hurried throw
went wide of the first baseman, sending
Henderson to third and Klesaris to sec
ond with nobody out.
Michelle Semmes stepped to the
plate next and hit a deep fly ball to right
field that looked destined for extra
bases. But Kori Jacobson had ajump on
it. Running back, she snatched the ball
with her outstretched glove, but the ball
was still plenty deep for a sacrifice fly.
