not purchase a parking permit from the
company until they have checked out
the lot in person.
Landrum and his roommate, Michael
Paduchowski, never received such a
warning. They bought spaces from
Mueller last week, but after buying PR
parking permits from the University,
they called to get a refund.
“We were both on the waidist for on
campus spots so we made sure that our
money was fully refundable if we were
to get the on-campus passes,” said
Paduchowski, a sophomore from Wake
Forest.

It wasn’t that easy. Paduchowski said
neither he nor Landrum ever received
their checks.
He said Tuesday’s article in The Daily
Tar Heel prompted him to call Tar Heel
Parking again and ask about the status of
his refund.
He said representatives treated him
mdely and hung up on him, so he decid
ed to circumvent them by putting a stop
on his check.
But when he called his bank, a teller
told him that Tar Heel Parking had
already cashed his check a week ago.
“I called (Tar Heel Parking) several
times today. I left messages, got hung up

“Once I read the article I knew that
something was not right,” Paduchowski
said.
“I’m planning on getting my money
back somehow) but it’s probably, not
going to be easy.”
