UNC Volleyball to Host Carolina Classic
from Staff Reports
The North Carolina volleyball squad
has a busy weekend ahead with the
Carolina/Nike Classic at Carmichael
Auditorium.
The Tar Heels (7-1) start play against
Louisville at
7 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday,
the Tar Heels face
UNC
ROUNDUP
Delaware at 1 p.m. and Santa Clara at
7 p.m.
The Tar Heels have won 39 of their
last 40 games at Carmichael
Auditorium. North Carolina is 5-0 at
home this season.
UNC has won 21 out of the 24 games
it has played in its seven victories this
year. The Tar Heels have swept five
opponents, including Appalachian State
on Tuesday night.
' UNC has an all-time record of 3-3
against Louisville and 4-1 against
Delaware. The Tar Heels have never
played Santa Clara.
19 Former Tar Heels in Olympics
As the 2000 Summer Olympics get
rolling, 19 former Tar Heels will be in
the hunt for gold-medal glory.
Sixteen of the 19 will compete for the
United States.
Ken Hamden will compete for
Zimbabwe in the 400-meter hurdles,
Eddie Neufville will race for Liberia in
the 4 x 100-meter relay, and Dominic
Demeritte will represent the Bahamas
in the 200.

tered an assist on Hamm’s goal, which
was the 126th of her international career.
Former North Carolina goalkeeper Sin
Mullinix got her 14th shutout of the year
for the United States. She faced nine shots
in the game.
Mullinix also contributed on the offen
sive end.
She assisted on Tiffeny Milbretfs goal
in the 18th minute, which put the United
States ahead 1-0.
Men's Exhibition Set for Carmichael
The North Carolina men’s and
women’s basketball teams will play
back-to-back contests in Carmichael
Auditorium on Nov. 21.
The women play against North
Carolina A&T at 6:30 p.m. in their
home opener of the 2000-2001 season.
The men play an exhibition game
against the EA/Califomia All-Stars that
will begin 30 minutes after the conclu
sion of the women’s game.
