Sheila Hrdlicka, a member of the Parents’ Council that meets twice a year to discuss parental concerns, said the Spectrum of Music Concert has been pop ular in the past among visiting parents. “The concert usually fills up Memorial Hall,” she said. “This weekend is so much fun because parents can meet other par ents and spend time with (their kids).” While paying an admission fee or signing up is required for some events, Johnson said other aspects of Carolina Family Weekend will be free and open to any interested parents. Out & About “You need to preregister for a lot of the events, but that doesn’t mean you can’t come and enjoy the weekend with your son and daughter,” Johnson said. She said one of the most important items on tap that requires no registration is Saturday morning’s Carolina Parents Association meeting, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Great Hall of the Student Union. “Every parent is automatically a member of the Carolina Parents Association,” she said. “I encourage all parents to attend because it is a great way to be in touch with life on campus.” In addition to learning about Greek life, career services and other University-related issues, Johnson said parents who attend the Saturday morn ing meeting will also be eligible for sev eral door prizes, including a free semes ter of in-state tuition and football tickets to the UNC-Marshall game. “I’m impressed at how extraordinary this University is in terms of parental involvement,” Johnson said. “I hope parents continue to do things that enhance the life of their students.” Y frl H Carr b° ro ■ 933-5544 H§ (Next to Armadillo) gp *** more l- n ■ Chapel Hill - 928-0100 ■ tor your M m ]| Crisp up your fall wardrobe flW] ¥ with the labels you love at prices that let B jgy you Jg Order From or Visit our menus yJ,u rM<> od —— lyrncGi 942*7678 orwww.tarheeitakeout.com Take-Out NOW ACCEPTING Hours: |T ,~, , ■ UNC ONE CARDS asrxK — O-txpressn a* ***<**, Friday-Saturday for ONE card orders) 11:00am -11 :30pm | —— (Restaurant Hours May vary) | We deliver for over 30 Restaurants! aJL * MS JAPANESE RESTAURANT fimßbg, @BANDJD<yS eSBraB, . k Me " ca " Cah iMMRi A MAMA mD'O W5 S PEPFtRS PARBAR Coffee Shop /♦ JscJ's Deli ♦> mEShun O fSSi IWKtT % y, Carolina Family Weekend Events Below are some of the events planned for family Weekend.
