6 THURSDAY, JULY 7, 2005 3 dead from plane crash in Alaska THE ASSOCIATED PRESS ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Three men aboard a small plane missing since Friday were found dead Tuesday afternoon, accord ing to Alaska State troopers. The three were visiting Alaska from the Carolinas. The Cessna 207 crashed on the north side of West Amatuli Island between Seldovia and the north end of Kodiak Island, troopers said. A Coast Guard search team spotted the wreckage of the Cessna 207 late Tuesday morn ing. Pararescuers from an Alaska Air National Guard search and rescue team were able to climb to the crash site and confirmed there were no survivors. News Space probe strikes comet : THE ASSOCIATED PRESS LOS ANGELES - The colli sion of a NASA space probe and a potato-shaped comet hurled a bright cloud of debris into space at the speed of a jetliner, scientists said Tuesday. The Hubble Space Telescope took a series of pictures of the July 4 impact that initially showed comet Tempel 1 as a ftizzy dot that grew four times brighter 15 min utes after the collision.
