I Jffl t KIiGRHSSiwJH DOSe Failed brew spells lawsuit FROM STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS On Monday, a German court ordered a self described witch to refund a disappointed client her hefty fee for a spell that failed to win back the woman’s partner. The client paid the witch $1,275 to bring back her ex-boyfriend, who left her in 2003. The Munich administrative court said the witch offered a service that was “objectively completely impossible.” “The defendant carried out the corresponding ritual over several months, each time under a full moon, but without success,” a court statement said. NOTED. Don’t rob fire with fire. A man trying to rob a fireworks shop in Wisconsin fired his shotgun, igniting fireworks and starting a fire that destroyed the business, authorities said. No injuries were reported. A 20-year-old man is being held in jail. POLICE LOG ■ A UNC baseball player was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of damage to real property at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Chapel Hill police reports state. Seth Matthew Williams, 20, of Hendersonville, was arrested at 150 E. Rosemary St. and charged with damaging a parking deck stop arm valued at SIOO, reports state. According to reports, Williams was seen pushing through the parking deck stop arm after lin ing up in football player stance. The arm flexed to a point and broke. Williams is scheduled to appear in District Criminal Court in Hillsborough on Nov. 29, reports state. ■ Derek Todd Shea, 26, of 430 Hillsborough St., was arrested at Goldie’s Grille at 137 E. Franklin St. after he was seen by a plain clothes officer assaulting a man, reports state. According to reports, Shea was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, being drunk and dis ruptive and resisting arrest. Rosemary St. ■ A Duke University student was arrested at 4:31 a.m. Saturday at 1714 Legion Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Rick D. Bagel, 20, of Princeton JCT, N.J., was arrested on misde meanor charges of driving while impaired, reckless driving and hit and run while having a provisional license, reports state. According to reports, Bagel wrecked his vehicle at the inter section of Legion Road and Europa Drive and refused the Intoxilyzer. Bagel was released with a writ ten promise to appear in District Criminal Court in Hillsborough on Dec. 5, according to reports.
