It was that moment that Trustees to start search process BY COLIN CAMPBELL STAFF WRITER UNC’s Board of Trustees will begin the search process for anew chancellor at its meet ing today, following Chancellor James Moeser’s announcement Wednesday that he will step down in June. Roger Perry, chairman of the board, said a search committee soon will form to start recruit ing candidates for the position of chancellor. “It would be a nationwide search,” trustee Bob Winston said, adding that he expects candidates within the University will be con sidered as well. Winston said several charac teristics will be important to con sider as the committee reviews candidates. “For an institution like Chapel Hill, that would be leadership and vision,” Winston said. Moeser, who has been chancellor for more than seven years, was clearly emotional while making his announcement, which take effect June 30.
