Engman, formerly of the Midwest Ambulance Service of lowa, was accused this summer of arriving to work two hours early, smelling of alcohol, then attempting to set up an intravenous fluid transfusion on himself. When questioned later by police, he allegedly said he set up the transfusion to eliminate some of the alcohol in his blood. Engman testified that he didn’t believe he was drunk when he arrived to work. Asked how much alcohol he had consumed, he said that he had “no idea” but that he had stopped drinking a few hours before reporting for work. NOTED. A New York restaurant is offering a $25,000 dessert, which was declared the most expensive dessert in the world this week. The Frrrozen Haute Chocolate is a mix of cocoa from 14 countries, milk and edible gold, topped with whipped cream and shavings from a truffle. It is served in a goblet decorated with a band of gold and 1 carat of diamonds and is served with a golden spoon diners can take home. POLICE LOG ■ An employee in the School of Public Health contacted University police Wednesday to investigate a “suspicious” e-mail, according to University police reports. According to reports, the issue will be investigated further. ■ Justin Lee Noell, 18, of 41 Rocky Brook in Carrboro, was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of possession of cocaine with intent to sell or distribute, according to Chapel Hill police reports. He was scheduled to appear Wednesday in court in Chapel Hill, reports state. ■ An incident of breaking and entering and larceny from a vehicle was reported at 5:01 p.m. Tuesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. A person pried open the win dow of a Honda Civic in a parking lot off 357 Summerwalk Circle and stole a stereo, according to police reports. According to reports, the sus pect caused a total of S3OO in damage.
