News Dose State will only pay for half a boob job FROM STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS A Raleigh woman who reported her breast implants damaged in an on-the job car accident should be compensated for the replacement of only one of the implants, state appellate judges ruled this week. > The case was a first for the North Carolina Court of Appeals, which con sidered for the first time whether damaged breast implants were covered by workers’ compensation. The court ruled that implants are covered by workers’ compensation because they are a “prosthetic device that functions as part of the body.” In the case of Penny M. Rumple Richardson, only one was deemed worthy of com pensation because the damage to the other could have come from a medical error. Only one judge said both needed to be replaced to make the implants “symmetrical." NOTED.
