The sausage allegedly used by 21-year-old Antonio Vasquez Jr. was thrown aside and eaten by a dog before deputies arrived at the scene. “After reviewing the report, we decided we just didn’t have a case at this time,” Assistant District Attorney John Savmoch said. So Vasquez was released without charges filed. The Arizona Daily Star’s headline read, “Calif, sheriff’s deputies never ‘sausage’ a residential burglary as this one.” NOTED. Reports state that Willie George Brooks, 48, of 1318 Ford Road, faces two felony counts ofbreak ing and entering into an unlocked vehicle for the incident on Country Club Road. Brooks was also charged with one count of misdemeanor larceny for stealing $7.16 in change from one of the vehicles, reports state. Brooks is being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of SIO,OOO bail and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 13, according to police reports. ■ Police charged two women Friday in separate incidents of shoplifting clothing items from Chapel Hill retail stores, accord ing to Chapel Hill police reports.
