Man declared pregnant

A 71-year-old man left an Oregon hospital
with interesting discharge instructions:
/ 1 “Based on your visit today, we know
A, JLyou are pregnant,” the paperwork said,
after John Grady Pippen complained of abdominal
pain.
Pippen’s baby was a mistake not a misuse of
“protection,” but a mere typo that caused the com
puter to send out the wrong instructions.

The bat was sent to a lab,
but its brain was too cooked

■ Police arrested a Durham man
Friday for carrying a concealed fire
arm and possessing marijuana and
drug paraphernalia, according to
Chapel Hill police reports.
Reports state that Jonathan
Dangelo Hicks, a 41-year-old taxi
driver, was stopped on Ephesus
Church Road for a narcotics inves
tigation when police found the
firearm in his pocket and a small
amount of marijuana.
Police released Hicks in lieu of
SI,OOO bail, and he is expected in
court Nov. 3, reports state.
■ More than $12,000 in tools
were stolen from an Environ Way
construction site either Thursday
or Friday, according to Chapel Hill
police reports.
The tools included seven saws,
three lasers, a hammer drill and a
gasoline pump, reports state.
This was the second reported
incident of theft from an Environ
Way construction site in a week.
■ Someone scratched “whore”
into the trunks of two cars parked
at a Church Street home, accord
ing to Chapel Hill police reports.

of abandonment of a dog Friday
at a house that was going to be
burned as training for the fire
department, according to Carrboro

Reports state that firefighters
reported a dog was tied to the house,
but when police arrived, the officer
could not find the dog. The officer
found a leash that went under the
door into the building. The offi
cer heard no response when he
knocked.
