The 75-pound cub was discovered by the entrance to campus shot in the head, said Tom Johnson, chief of university police. The signs were stapled to the bear’s head. Wildlife Resources was called to remove it. NOTED. A Florida man tried to steal bags of super market frozen shrimp by hid ing them in his pants. When authorities stopped the 32-year-old man, he took several bags out of his pants and promised to put them back. But when he tried to exit the store, the detective tack led and restrained him. POLICE LOG ■ A Chapel Hill woman was arrested Sunday for taking inde cent liberties with a minor, accord ing to Chapel Hill police reports. Danielle Brook Futrelle, 19, also faces a misdemeanor charge of drug paraphernalia, two mis demeanor charges of contribut ing to the delinquency of a minor and two other misdemeanor counts. She was arrested at an East Franklin Street convenience store, reports state. Police seized two stolen lighters and five stolen alcoholic beverages, according to reports. Futrelle was confined in Orange County Jail in lieu of $16,500 bail and is expected in district criminal court Nov. 24. ■ Someone refused to leave Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe and spit in an employee’s face Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. ■ Police received complaints of people disputing the ownership of two dogs, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state that the dispute, (Eljr laihj (Ear Mrri NOTED. A 66-year-old Florida woman chose to go to jail rather than pay her Waffle House bill. She ordered coffee and a sandwich, which cost her $7.45. “O’Neill said she was not going to pay for her food,” the police report states. “I asked O’Neill again to pay for her food and she plain refused to.” about two dachshunds, occurred Sunday night. ■ An armed robbery took place on Smith Level Road early Sunday, according to Carrboro police reports. The victim told police that he was robbed by two males and a female, report state. ■ There were two raccoons outside the doors of Carrboro Elementary School, according to Carrboro police reports. The complainant told police that she saw the raccoons outside a glass door and attempted to shoo them away, but they did not leave, according to reports. The responding officer searched the area but could not locate the raccoons, reports state. ■ Police received reports that subjects were in a white van on Barnes Street passing around what appeared to be a crack pipe, accord ing to Carrboro police reports.
