Dose Local recruiting kissers FROM STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS An ad on craigslist asks for females for a kissing research study in Durham, and says the study is a follow-up to a 2000 research study by UNC School of Public Health faculty. The ad says subjects will be filmed kissing and heavy petting, and will be paid SIOO. But professor Carolyn Halpem said in an e-mail today that she didn’t know about the ad and that it has no relation to any study her team is doing. NOTED. According to a Europe-wide study by the Condom Consultancy in Germany, the French need the largest condoms. Robert Allen Merritt, 48, took $285 in jewelry, purses and alarm speaker caps before he was arrest ed Thursday, reports state. Merritt, of 100 W. Rosemary St, faces felony charges of breaking and entering and larceny, in addition to a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, according to reports. Merritt was taken to the Orange County Jail in lieu of SIO,OOO bond and was expected in court Monday, reports state. ■ A Carrboro man was arrested Sunday for assault by strangulation and resisting a public officer, accord ing to Chapel Hill police reports. Police released Corey Edward Ingram, 27, in lieu of SB,OOO bond. Police gave several verbal com mands to lay down and then yelled, “Taser, Taser, Taser” and deployed the electronic device, reports state. The officer came closer and noticed that the probes of the device were stuck to Riggsbee’s jacket, reports state. The officer then performed a “drive stun,” handcuffed Riggsbee and found a pistol in his pocket, reports state.
