Mr. Flint who is charged with absconding from Norfolk Va., in a letter from Chicago, UL, to the New York Herald, says he is no forger, and has not de camped with another man's wife, or deserted his own, but that ha made over to his creditors, all necessary funds to pay his debts. Mr. G. B. Lalors, of Savannah. Ga. 'is here, urging his claim to a large amount of cotton, seized by the government ' His object appears to secure executive or departmental action in his favor, thus keeping it out of the court of claims, before which tribunal, the first step in the 'pro ceedings would require an oath that he had never participated in the late rebellion. The President to-day directed a pardon to be issued o Edward L. Martin, of Delaware, who was convicted in April 1864, in the United States District Court for the district of Delaware, for aiding and assisting the rebellion, and was sen cost of nrosecntion. All of his slaves to be lib - erated. and that he be disaualified from holding any office under the United States.
