The maid of honor. Miss MayYoung. of Clayton; preceded the bride, who entered on the arm of her brother, Mr. Charles G. Koonce, of Washington, D. C, who gave her away. The bride wore a blue voile golng away gown and carried a bouquet of bride's roses. Clasped at her throat was a diamond and pearl brooch, the gift of the groom. The maid of honor's dress was of white silk mull, with black chiffon pic ture hat, and she carried white carna tions. The bride Is the gifted and beautiful daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Koonce. She was educated in Raleigh and has taken a high stand in her intellectual pursuits. The groom Is a member of the Arm of Skinner & Patterson, proprietors of the flourishing tobacco warehouse at Smithfleld. and Is one of the most suc cessful youns business men of that town. Mr. and Mrs. Patterson were the re cipients of many presents, and re ceived the hearty congratulations of a host of friends. To- j morrow morning there will be a happy rocial event at the Trinity Methodist church when Miss Annie Whitakerf; daughter of Mr. C. D. Whitaker. will become the bride of Mr. G. B. Cald well of Danville. The marriage vows I will be spoken at 9 o'clock and the couple will leave for Norfolk and from there will go to New York on a short bridal tour. They will then return to Danville to make their home. On the llth of this month a b'rother of Mr. Caldwell, Dr. Taul Caldwell, will be united in marriage In New York, the bride being Miss Charlotte Jones. On the bridal trip Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Caldwell will attend this wedding. The bride is one of Durham's most lovely young" women and has a large number of friends. The groom-to-bo vas formerly manager of the expres3 company in this city but was some time ago transferred to Danville, where he is manager for the same company.
