About twenty years ago a number of photographs were taken of buildings la Raleigh for display at the state ex position lnMI. among these being an excellent one of the old Centennial School building, which was for so many years the executive mansion. Colonel OldJ greatly desires to secure one of these photographs, as a gtfe or a loan. An araislng scene was witnessed at the union station yesterday afternoon. A little four year old boy was desper ately afraid of the train and when he - saw the locomotive coming the exer ons of hi mother. Capt. T. V. Bunch r and the Matron Molly were necessary to quiet him. Even then bodily force had to be used to get him on board. Mr. Samuel J. Hinsdale, who has been with the Seaboard Air Line here, has taken a position as teller in the Caro lina Trust Company. When Mr. J. N. Wollett. vice president of the Mills Lumber Company, left Mr. William Hayes, cashier of the" Trust Company, was promoted to Mr. Wollett'a place and Mr. nam F. Smith succeeded Mr. Hayes. The remains of Walter nowell. who died In Durham, were brought here yesterday and Interred in the city ceme tery. Messrs. C. E. Upchurch, Wm. B. Walters and J. L. Bock accompanied the body from Durham to Raleigh. Mr. Howell Is survived by a mother and 5 sisters. He waa 35 years old. Dr. Plato Durham of Trinity College was here yesterday on his way home from Newton Crova school where he delivered the consr.eecement address before an audience of nearly two thou sand people.
