TO DOUBLE THE OUTPUT. The Mint to Stamp 3,000,000 Silver Dol lars Every Month Hereafter. Washington, July 16—Owing to the fact that the amount of silver dollars in the Treasury available foU the redemption of Treasury notes, has become reduced to $10,659,582 and will be further reduced by re demption during the current month, the coinage of silver dollars by the mints will be increased from one and one-half million dollars to three million dollars per month from the 1st of August, and will probably be continued at that rate in order that the Treasury may have a sufficient stock to redeem Treasury notes pre sented in exchange for dollars. On the 1st of March, 1893, the Treasury held 29,390,461 standard silver dollars for the redemption of Treasury notes under the act of July 1890. Today the number of silver dollars held by the Treasury for the redemption of Treasury notes is $10,659,582. Since the 1st of March, 1893, the coinage of silver dollars has aggregated $11,983,056, Of this sum, however, $2,311,677 was profits or seignorage, which leaves $9,671,379 for the redemption of Treasury notes. The amount of Treasury notes redeemed in silver dollars and cancelled from Novem ber 1st, 1893, to July 14th, 1896, was $28,402,258. Resumption of Daily Steamer Service Be tween West Point and Baltimore. Beginning July 14th, the York River Line will resume operating its steamers between West Point, Va., and Baltimore, daily except Sunday. This gives the Southern Railway Com pany a steamer outlet to Baltimore daily except Sunday both from West Point and from Norfolk via. their new Baltimore and Norfolk Line. Norfolk’s New Hotel. Yesterday’s New York Journal says: “Architects Scott, Edelsvard & Fortin, of No. 132 Nassau street, are busy on plans for an eight story hotel, 100x80, to be erected at Nor folk, Va., by Judge Charles Avery, of No. 80 Broadway, this city. The plans call for steel construction, elevators, electric light and steam heat. The hotel will cost $400,000.” The hotel ‘is to be erected on the Dickson property at the corner of Granby street and City Hall avenue. To exchange a jaded and worn nature for one of brightness, buoyancy and power. To cure forever effects of excesses, overwork, worry, &c.
