but it Is a miracle that somebody
elsewas not struck. Many of the shot
took effect in an Inside vail of the
First National Bank, but fortunately
nobody was hurt. The cause of the
shooting was charges preferred be
fore the school board by a commit
tee, of which Wilson was chairman,
reflecting on one of Crichton's
daughters, who is a teacher in the
colored schools.
A Good Move.
The various Confederate Veteran
camps in New Orleans have com
bined to establish an intelligence
bureau for securing employment for
Confederate Veterans and their sons
and daughters. Already it is in op
eration and has a list of unemployed
veterans who want to earn an honest
support.
