Hartsell, Sr., of Locust, was sentenced to six months imprisonment in jail by Judtfe Hoke Wednesday ona verdict of guilty bf fornication and adultery. This seems to us very righteous judgment, and we would suggest that if it is in the province of the court his commission as justice of the peace ought to be taken from him, so that when he is liberated be may not continue to ad minister justice among citizens of the county in his way. SUnly En terprise. .Short Cottsn Crop In South Carolina. The Baltimore Sun says: "It is .he opinion of all correspondents that the cotton crop willKmuch smaller than the condition of the p'ant during July and August promised. The loss in condition is greatest over the central and eastern counties, where the August squares and young bolls nearly all dropped off and whero the plant is, for the most part, apparently dying, with no appearance of a top crop, and where rust was most prevalent." Was Soon Peeling Better. "For three years I was troubled with my heart and liver. I was run down in health and could hardly walk, I was so weak. I tried many medicines and finally bough a bottle of Hood's Sarsaparilla. I was soon feeling better, and after taking a few more bottles I was strong and able to work." W S Harris, Cloverdale, Va. Hood's Pills are the best cathar tic. Easy to take, gentle mild. 25 cents. A Suicide's Startling Act. Tkov, N. Y., Sept. 12. A mm walking in a crowd opposite the post office shot himself at 10 o'clock Jast night and fell dead at the feet of & woman, who swooned and sank at his side. Many persons identified the man asThomasKillain, a painter. The body was taken to Killain's home, but Killain's mother and sis ters declared that the body was not his. There was nothing upon the suicide to identify him, and the body was taken to an undertaker's. The Queen's Descendants. TheQueedof England's descend ants either now occupy or will in a few years sit upon, seven thrones namely, those of the British empire, the Russian empire, the German em pire, the Kingdom of Greece, the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, the Grand Duchy of Hesse, and the Duchy of axe-Meiningen. Stands at the Head. Aug. J, Bogel, the leading drug gist of Shreveport, La., says. "Dr. King's New Discovery is the only hing that cures my cough, and it is the bestseller I have." J. F. Camp bell, merchant of Ariz, writes: "Dr. King's New Discovery is all that is claimed for it; it never fails and is a sure cure for consumption, coughs and colds. I cannot say enough for its merits." Dr. King s New Dis covery for consumption, coughs and colds is not an experiment. It has been tried for a quarter of century, and today stands at the head. It never disappoints. Free trial bot tles at all druggists. At Trinity College. Ten young ladies have already matriculated at Trinity college, and there are more to come.
