Wkcond, That to eacn oi us ana to every officer and employee of the bank his absence will be a source of great and lasting regret as that of a dear friend, and that his pleasing face, his kindly greeting, his cheerful conversation, often at once playful and instructive, his tender considera tion for the rights and feelings of others, bis fulness of that charity which suffereth long and is kind," and his unreserved, almost affection ate manner with us in our daily asso cittion, will be ever pleasant memo ries to each and all of us. Among the many business houses in the city, can be mentioned in the foremost rank the celebrated under taking establishment of L C Bagwell, corner of Martin and Blount streets. There is no house of the kind in North Carolina that can surpass this in all the arrangements necessary for a pro per interment of the dead. Not only does Mr Bagwell's fame permeate the city, it has reached the surrounding country from whence he is receiving the most liberal patronage This is reasonable, because people will go where they can be best accommoda ted. A visit to this establishment will stiike the beholder with wonder. Hera can be seen beautiful caskets,bu rial robes.gloves and all the necessary burial apparel. One of the finest hearses in the State is ready at all times and bodies are properly em balmed when desired. There is no duty of a more mournful, but at the same time of a more commendable character than the proper burial of the' dead, and it devolves upon the living to see that the sacred duty is peformed in the best manner. The raoidlv increasing patronage of Mr Bagwell's house is the best evidence that he is giving the most complete satisfaction. All he desires is, that those having to care for deceased friends will call and see him. Even if there be no occasion for immediate services, there will be in the course of ndtnn.
