Bro. Diaz'rf Arrcdt in Cuba.
Bib. Recorder, July 16th.
We are just in receipt of the follow
ing letter from Bro. Diaz.
We had not before understood that
Bro. Diaz had been released upon
bond. We supposed his release had
been unconditional. We do not un
derstand why ethers of his friends in
Havana do cot go on his ) ond unless
it be that the boudsman must live in
the judicial district where the case is
to be tried.
Guanabaccoa is in a different dis
trict from Ha "ana.
uur present lniormatlon is so
meagre and the communication is so
low that we are at a loss what steps
to take for bis release.
The absence of both Secretary of
State and his first ass'stant fiom
Washirgton stops all action In that
direction until their return.
Our letters written to Havana, ask
mg full information, have not yet
been answered. We have but the
two letters from Bro. Diaz himself,
Our brethren everywhere may be
assured that the Board will 1o every
thing in its power to the speedy re
lease of Bro. Diaz and his fellow pris
oners, and protect the rights of our
missionaries in Cuba. Meantime let
us be mindful of the injunction. "Re
member those that are in bonds as
bound with them."
Let prayer be made for our impris
oned brethren, which will be answer
ed either in their liberation or in
grace to sustain the heavy trials that
have befallen them.

Rev. Dr. Tichenor :
Dear Sir: I send to Washington to
day a copy of ail my case. The con
sul is waiting the case be over. That
is all. The government here want
deceive him. The man that gave the
bail for me is going to take back. He
want to sell bis home today, and I
must go to the jail again. My heart
is broken, but 1 trust in the Lord,
and remember with pleasure those
beautiful works: Blessed are they
who sutler persecution for righteous
ness' sake, those that confess me on
earth 1 will confess them in heaven.
I suffer with patience this trial, but
can't help being sorry and afflicted in
my spirit, and I only say: Lord, may
this cup be over, but 1 obey Thee;
Thy will be done in us. Comfort my
eoul, Lord Jesus.
Good oje, my dear brother. Pray
for the prisoners, and ask the Lord to
comfort us and give us strength. My
brethren in prison are well. We com'
fort ourselves when we read the Bible
and have prayers; 1 never felt before
the prayers as I feel now. How sweet
they arel Wlat beautiful perfume
they have! We receive the answer in
our hearts right away. Blessed are
those who are Christians, for they are
only people ihat have this privilege
Good bye again. The; saints of
Cuba send their love to you and to all
our friends. Yours,
Diaz.
