The Election;
Never was there a more beautiful
autumnal day than yesterday, and
the people in their sovereign capacity
seem to fully appreciate it. At an
early hour the voters gathered at the
polls, and all during the day deposit
ed their ballots in a dignified and
peaceable manner. No disturbance
Of any kind occurred The vote
throughout the county was heavy,
and resulted in the choice of the dem
ocratic nominees entire. We give in
this issue a tabular statement show
ing the vote at each precinct which
will be added to until complete, mak
ing it a ready reference for the fu
ire.

bacco manufacturers they stand in
the lead. Durham Sun.
The Greeusboro Daily Patriot an
nounces that it will suspend after
next Saturday. It has not proven a
very remunerative venture. We re
gret to hear this because the Patriot
was a sprightly, well edited daily and
deserves a better fate. But people,
without town pride, cannot expect a
daily paper, with its attendant ex
penses to be met weekly, to live on
wind. To make such an enterprise a
grand success and an honor to its
community, there must be a hearty
eo-operatiot by all and an earnest ef
fort 1o make it pay its way to the
front ranks. This can only be done
by united efforts Durham Sun.
