Garret ta, with her troupe of trained ponies, dogs, cats, doves, pigeons and chick ens. It will doubtleos be a most pleasing entertainment for vomeu and children. Long vs. Hankin, from Halifax; af firmed. Have we any Rights ? In giving the Raleigh Electric Rail way a thirty years franchise on our streets, did we reserve any rights to ourselves ? If so what are they ? The tracks occupying the center of our best streets are a nuisance and we suggest to His Honor the Mayor that the Company be notified that opera tions must begin in a reasonable length of time or he will order the Street Commissioner to have the whole thing torn up as obstruction to our highways. Why should we sit Idly whining about what thbt are going to do, and will they do any thing at all, and all that? Personal Mention. Thos. W. Strange, Esq., of Wil mington, is in the city. Mr. J. S. Renno and wife, of Mon cure, are at the Yarboro. We are glad to learn that Mr. M. Grausman is improving. Z Mr. Geo. J. Robn, of Richmond, is in the city. Mr. C. H. Scott, of Warrenton, is in the city. Mr. J. R. Nowell, of Eagle Rock, is in the city. We are sorry to learn that Mr. D S. Waitt, is not so well today. Mr. John Moore, on South Blount street still continues ill. Miss. Alma Huff, of Louisburg, is visiting MissjLula Uzzle in this city. The following are registered at the Yarboro: W. Sherer and D. A. Miss Kate Hatcher, of Richmond, Va., who has been visiting Miss Ef fie Broughton, of this city, left for Weldon this morning, where she will spend a few days before returning home. Miss Hatcher, made a host of friends while here who will be glad to have her visit our city again. Gen. B. F. Chilton, General Man ager of the Southern Inter-states Im migration Bureau has taken rooms at the Barkley House on East Edenton street. Miss Lena Partin, of this city, daughter of Mr. G. W.
