The craze of some Americans for imaginary estates in England has again called from the American min ister in London an emphatic warning against spending money in trying to win them. Apart from the fact that the statute of limitations would pre vent any chance of gaining suits en tered for mythical property, it may be said that according to returns is sued by order of the Court of Chan cery, there are no estates lying idle in England amounting to such fabu lous sums as people think. Nor is there any large amount of money in the bank of England awaiting claim ants, the highest single claim report ed being about one thousand pounds. The chase after these alleged estates, such as the Jennings, Townley, Hyde, Bradford and others, is stimulated by legal sharks who fancy small fish are easily caught by gilded bait. News Items.
