Ed iters Day. October 5th and 6th, have been let apart by the manager of the later Htate Exposition as "Editors Day". In it comments on tbe subject, the Oxford Day has the follow iutr very sensible article. The newspaper of the South have certainly done much toward the upbuilding of the South, and it is high time that our own people appre elate what can be done through the columns of our home papers. If they were patronized as they should be they could do more to develop the South than all the foreign papers which charge two or three hundred dollars for a write up. The home papers are full of matter daily that calls attention to the gouth's advan tages, and if our people would spend a few hundred dollars in sending their own papers abroad it would pay bet ter than giving money to those who carry it away. We hope to see a full delegation of editors at the Southern Exposition on the date named, and as they are promised a special good time they should attend. We notice that on the same days the Northern settlers of the South propose to hold a big Convention and express to the world what they think of the South as a home for Northern farmers and capitalists." --- Sanitary Report. We are indebted to Mr. A. I. Fer rell, the efficient Secretary at;d Reg ister of the Board of Health and city Sanitary luspector for a copy of his report for the mouth of August 1891. In a recent issue we published the number of deaths. The proportion of deaths to population during the month was as follows: Whites, 1 in 889; colored, 1 in 407; total, 1 in G25. Ratio per 1,000 during the month, whites, 1 12; colored, 2.14; total, 1.60. The following were the births : white males 7, females 10, total 17.
