Turk, A. . if. A, (Jharlotte, JN. V. "Jim th Westerner." Brooklyn Citizen. The story is about a tall, jerky bluff and honest young man who af ter ten years or more in the West takes on all the characteristics of the breezy men o that section of the country, and when he returns east to visit old friends he is the typical fel low who bruises society hands in hearty shakes, and is ever ready to bear down on villainy for the sake of defending virtue. He does for three acts, and he rights wrongs, downs the villain and wins the love of a pretty girl. The second act, which shows two heroes starving in a garret, and when visited by wealthy friends they spurn money, was in O'Keefe's "Wild Oats" seventy years ago, but Mr, Rose brings it right up to date with amusing dressing. Wall street and its daily life belongs to everybody, and Mr. Rose has used it for his own purposes and successfully. Jim the Westerner, exists, and so do the old couple, who pretend to Le strict Methodists, even to each other, and then bet on base ball games and horse races. There were eight or nine conversions last night and a large number of persons asked for the prayers of the church. The services yesterday were very interesting and spiritual. The improvement in this congregation is very marked indeed Everything indicates progress. The pastor is full of fa.th and hope, and expects the meeting to culminate in a general revival, which will prove a blessing to the entire city. Bad Arrangement. There is a bad arrangement between the R. & 1). and the Atlantic Coast Line, by which persons having cor respondence between Raleigh and Wilmington are put often, to serious inconvenience. This is specially true at this time when the trains from the west are usually crowded and are be hind. For instance when the train on the N. C. railroad is a little behind we loam that the Atlantic Coast line train will not wait even a reasonable time. The result is that letters writ ten from Raleigh and mailed prompt y have to lay over in Goldsboro, and do not reach Wilmington until next day. This is an abominable arrange ment. Can't it be remedied ? 2 A New Enterprise in Town. The Plaster Decoration Co (M H.
