We paid a visit today to the under , taking establishment of our friend, Mr. J W. Brown, corner of Morgan and D wson streets, for the purpose i of looking at some nice specimens of I workmanship in his line, lately received. We were shown oue of tbe most beautiful and unique designs in the way of a casket that has ever been seen in this city. It is made of an tiqud oak, splendidly polished, with carved corners, panel sides, &c , and was manufactured by the Springfield, Ohio, Metalic Cask -t Company. As a receptacle for the dead it cert iiuly surpasses anything ever brought to Raleigh, and proves that Mr. Brown is fully abreast of the times in the matter of arranging for burials. We also saw a casket of m st ele gait finish and beautifully designed, which is the work of Mr Ed S. Brown, who is admirably skilled in the busiuess, having been connected with the establishment for several years. Mr. Bron also showed us a fine, elegantly wrought handl made of placed silver, representiog the "GateAjir." For superior fish it is unsurpassed by anything we have heretofore seen In a word, Mr. Brown's establishment will compare most favorably with those of like kind in any city in the South. NOW FOR IT.
