Lodge and visiting brethren. Thikm, Sec'y. Mose. We had the pleasure of seeing in the city today our old friend, Col. John N. Bunting, of Panther Branch township. We are pleased to see that time is dealing gently with the Col onel, and he-presents all the appear ance of a well fed planter. He speaks most hopefully of the future and thinks that the coming crops will put us all right in the matter of prosper ity. Col. Bunting is full of reminis cences, and under his well tnown lit erary title of ''Mose," he promises us some of his spicy productions at no distant day. Scarcity. A business friend told us today, that so far as his experience goes, very little of the new silver coin had put in its appearance in Raleigh. Large sums are being daily issued at the mint, but the bulk of it seems to es chew the South almost entirely. We told our friend that possibly we had no quid pro quo to offer, as it was a t rare exception to obtain something for nothing. When the new crops ! are forwarded to market, however, ' if they should not turn out failures again, we may expect our quota. As newspaper men are proverbially poor, we will be satisfied with the old issue of coiD; however slick it may be worn. One Cent I kallie.
