It is sufficient, perhaps, to note that there is not in North Carolina or, indeed, in the Southern States, a primary school of more real merit or which has attained a higher standard of excellence Since Messrs. Morson and Denson entered on their , career here the institution has been . on a steady plane of improvement, I both in the high order of its studies and in the increased attendance. It is the best stepping stone to our State University and other colleges, f urn ishing to them each year a large num ber of scholars.
