The Asheville Excursion.
On Wednesday, July 6th, there will
be an excursion to Ashevllle under
the direction of Mr Jas. A.Sanders,
as manager. It will be, beyond doubt,

for a delightful trip to the Switzer

We have frequen.-ly called aUen
tion to this time honored bu-ial place,
where rest tbe remains of some of
our best citizens in days gone by. It
is indeed a sacred spot to many of us,

loved ones gone before. Of late the
cemetery has beeu considerably iui
proved, but much neds to be done,
yet, to make It what it should be
The sexton, Mr Sei h Jones, has de
voted considerable time and pains in
fixing up such graves as the relatives
and friends of deceased persons have
pointed out or suggested, but many
of them are still in a condition of
serious neglect. It would be well for
those interested in the cemetery to
arrange with Mr. Jones for the im
provement of the resting places of
their friends. hi? course would add
greatly to thu uoadibiou of the
grounds, end, in a few years", they
would reflsct credit upon us. We
owe it to ibe memory of our loved
ones to look after the matter.
