Thiff:tody met at 9 o'clock this morning pursuant to adjournment. At 9:30 a prayer service was com men 3 ed, after which an address was deliv ered by Rev Dr. Ellis on Christian ity. At 12 o'clock Dr. W. P. Pow ell, missionary to Mexico, addressed the convention. The committee to nominate a board of education met in the Tabernacle at 9 o'clock. Notwithstanding the inclement morn there was a large attendance including many ladies. Caught. Last night the watchman at the coal and wood vard of Msrs. Jones & Powell detected two negro boys named Joe Holder aud Alex Turner in the act of stealing ccal. The watchman detained tbm ind pot for a policeman who arrested and placed them in the station bs This morning they were sen' on to court for trial. It would be well 'or such offenders to know that a strict watch is placed at the yard and any attempt to steal is alwost sure to b detected aud punished. Committees.
