The Confederate veteran's associa tion of Cabarrus county will soon meet to make arrangements for a Confederate reunion Tne joint committee on appropria tion for Confederate monument, will meet in Secretary of State's office, Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. We learn that very few valentines comparatively passed through the postoffloe todav. The custom seems to be losing popularity. It will be an amusing occasion. Now that the city will no doubt, be placed in full municipal control of Pollen Park, let us hope that an available route may fce fixed up to reach it. It is expected that the matter of a reformatory for young criminals will be discussed. A fall attendance is earnestly desired. On Sunday last at the residence of Mr. John T. Robs, on East Hargett street, Mrs Elizabeth Johnson in the 70th year of her age. The funeral took place this morning at 11 o'clock. Death of Col. John 81. Robin son. News ha been received that Col. John M. Robinson, president of the Seaboard Air Line, died at his resi dence in Baltimore this morning at 6 o'clock. Mr. Robinson was one of the most widely known railroad men in the country and his loss will be deeply felt. Is It Srt?
