The senate last night passed the bill to provide for the maintenance of the ma'itia and state guard. It Lad previously been tabled. The report of the auditor of North Carolina shows that there are 158, '47 white polls and 63,081 colored polls returned as having paid, the propor tion being about 22 to 10. The pro perty of the whites yielded 381,012 and that of the blacks f 12,37, the proportion being about 30 to 1. The last Legislature made an effort to tax Incomes, but the income tax yields only $1 471. Messrs. Whiting Bros, are always on time.
